Primal Citizenship

Diverse groups generally create better solutions than homogenous groups. Yet, we are actively forming homogenous “tribes” that seek to take away the voices of other “tribes”. We are taking up our roles as citizens in a regressive, primal way. Cancel culture, political violence, and belief in misinformation, for example, are manifestations of this. No society can thrive when meaningful discourse cannot happen and when large portions of the population are ignored or vilified. To solve the urgent problems we face, we must evolve beyond Primal Citizenship to a more Empathic Citizenship.
